Após 7 anos de viagem, desde o seu lançamento 15 de Outubro de 1997 e uns milhões de km´s percorridos, a Cassini-Huygens entra hoje em orbita de Saturno.

The mission arrives at Saturn in July 2004. The Huygens probe will land on Titan in January 2005.

Cassini-Huygens is a joint NASA/ESA mission. NASA’s Cassini spacecraft will orbit Saturn for four years, making an extensive survey of the ringed planet and its moons. The ESA Huygens probe will be the first to land on a world in the outer Solar System - on the surface of Titan, Saturn’s largest moon. Data from Cassini and Huygens may offer clues about how life began on Earth.

On July 1, 2004 the Cassini-Huygens spacecraft will fire its main engine to reduce its speed, allowing the spacecraft to be captured by Saturn's gravity and enter orbit. The spacecraft will then begin a four-year tour of the ringed planet, its mysterious moons, the stunning rings, and its complex magnetic environment.
