Let us enter the niche world again because a new Peek messaging device has been launched over there, and is claimed to feature a heap of improvements (9 times faster, more cost-effective, better reception) over its predecessor.
Named Peek 9, the device comes in two color schemes - Charcoal Grey and Black Cherry, it weights 109 grams, has tri-band GPRS support, a 2.5-inch (240 x 320) display, a 104 MHz ARM7 TI chipset, 8MB of user-available storage, a QWERTY keyboard, and includes Twitter and Facebook connectivity, ActiveSync for checking in on your Outlook account, PeekMaps, and app support.
Peek 9 (http://www.getpeek.com/purchase.html#) costs $70 by itself or $100 with a two-month contract.
