Fire up your gaming rig because the latest version of 3DMark is here and it's packin' some serious DirectX 11 chops. Dubbed 'The Gamer's Benchmark for DirectX 11', 3DMark 11 will throw things like tessellation, ambient occlusion and volumetric lighting at your GPU to test its power.
Futuremark's benchmark makes use of a brand-new engine and features four graphics test, a CPU physics test, plus a combine test for a total workout. Before you get started with 3DMark 11 just know that it requires a DX11 graphics, and a Windows (Vista or 7) PC with at least a 1.8 GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.
3DMark 11 is available in three versions - Basic (free and available for download here (http://www.tcmagazine.com/tcm/downloads/32207/3dmark-11-v1000) ), Advanced ($19.95) and Professional ($995).
You can read about our experience with 3DMark 11 in the article found here (http://www.tcmagazine.com/tcm/editorial/software/32214/3dmark-11-benchmark-continuum) .
