Radeon HD 6990 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 750 Watt power supply unit


The MSRP price tag of the Radeon HD 6990 will be set at 599 EUR, a huge amount of money for a graphics card alright, but it's 300 EUR per GPU. With the Radeon HD 6970 selling at roughly 339 EUR and with Crossfire in mind, this does save you money and you do get an all-in-one product. With the release of the Radeon HD 6990, AMD brings an extraordinary performing product to the market. With dual-GPUs on one PCB, you always need to compromise a little here and there, but the overall package seems to work out really well. The x-factor is there and the performance is phenomenal when that 2nd GPU kicks in and if you like to go really wild with multiple-monitors then this product is starting to make a whole lot of sense.

Muito boa gráfica, após ler o artigo todo, as conclusões que tiro são que essa gráfica tem obviamente mais performance do que alguém precisará neste momento, mas é um excelente produto para quem tem uns euros a estorvar e tem o bichinho de entusiasta. Boa escolha por parte da AMD ao incorporar os chips Cayman XT na gráfica, e ao que vejo, embora ainda continue a haver o velho problema dos drivers vs dual-gpu cards, a mesma portou-se muito bem.
Fico á espera duma review com crossfire de 2 bichas destas ! :thumbsup:

So with that much perf in-house, please do flick open all image quality settings a game offers you. I mean, if I take Battlefield 2 Bad Company, which is massively GPU dependant and enable all and only the very best image quality settings, apply 8xAA and we still get 80 FPS on average in a monitor resolution of 2560x1600 (!), well that just says it all really. That's pure, raw and unadulterated performance.

450W com a bios de performance... ui ui =D mais o overclock que lhe fizeram deve andar ali nos 500W mais coisa menos coisa. Nada que uma boa fonte de 850W não resolva, se bem que para uma gráfica destas o ideal será uma fonte de 1000W

Uma boa fonte de 750W chega perfeitamente.As minhas duas consomem 320W(stock) e têm metade da largura de banda LOL.Mas a jogar crysis 2 com sli activado anda nos 420W.

After publication of this article there's been some slight confusion on the matter of the AWSUM switch and the warranty. AMD's official guidance is that overclocking the card voids the warranty, which means that AWSUM/uber mode it warranty breaking. Technically speaking just flipping the switch doesn't break the warranty - it's operating the card that does - but retail cards will come with a sticker over the switch warning users of the potential danger of overclocking and that it violates the warranty. So breaking the sticker to flip the switch will for all practical purposes violate the warranty. Specific policies may differ by partner, however.
